“What’s the Buzz” Fall Breakfast Brief
On Thursday, Sept. 12, approximately 350 colleagues across Finance & Administration gathered in Brendle Auditorium for the second installment of “What’s the Buzz” fall breakfast brief. The event kicked off with a light community-building breakfast before transitioning into the auditorium for the main event. Below is a brief overview of the event agenda:
- Keynote: Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Dr. Jacqueline A. Travisano provided the keynote, recognizing many recent successes across the division that support the University’s Strategic Framework.
- The Grounds: Coleman Team and Adam Parker from Winston-Salem’s Front Street Capital and Atlanta firm Carter joined to share additional details about the new mixed-use development, The Grounds.
- Meet Mary Lucal: Dedee DeLongpré Johnston, Chief of Staff, welcomed Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Mary Lucal to the stage for a brief introduction.
- Wait… what’s your job? A panel of colleagues gathered on stage to share their unique jobs. The panel included Matt Adams (Assistant Manager, Athletic Field Maintenance), Julie Groves (Director, Risk Management), Kathleen Hutton (Coordinator, Graylyn House Experience), Brittney Peoples (Manager, Absence & Wellbeing), Krista Stump (Manager, Engaged and Experiential Learning), and Paul Whitener (Associate Director, Digital Fabrication and Maker Education).
- Move-In Celebration: We celebrated our Facilities colleagues who helped with move-in and our Sustainability team who met with members on the incoming class more than 3,000 time during orientation.
- Raffle: The morning concluded with a raffle of a WFU swag bag, a Village Tavern gift card, WFU dining cards, a local favorites basket, four tickets to an upcoming WFU football game, and a gift card to the Deacon Shop.
